HOT-FIX BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Development of Swarovski® Hot-Fix:
In the past, it was very difficult to apply sparkling highlights. Punched jewelry stones and set crystals were required
and sewing them on was very time consuming. To save time and work for its customers, in addition to offering a unique
feature, Swarovski began the development of an innovation: the revolutionary Hot-fix application method. It was first
introduced in the 1970’s, underwent permanent optimization, and today customers reap the benefits in a variety of
products.
The Technology:
Each Hot-Fix element has a thin layer of hot-melt adhesive on the back and once activated by heat, bonds with the carrier
material. The glue sets, as it cools, fixing the elements permanently and securely. Swarovski Hot-Fix products are
resistant to washing, UV light, perspiration, swimming, perfume and drying. |
